ARAB CIVIL AVIATION COMMISSION
Creating the commission
The Arab Civil Aviation Commission is an Arab specialized organization affiliated to the Arab League that aims to tighten cooperation and coordination
among the Arab countries in civil aviation and develop this field. It was created on February 7, 1996 when its founding convention went into force.
It held its first general assembly on June 4-5, 1996. This convention was ratified so far by 20 Arab countries, while the rest of the Arab countries is in the process of ratification.
Objectives of the Commission
- The purposes and objectives of the Commission are to provide civil aviation authorities in the Member States with a framework for joint action in order to: Develop general planning for civil aviation among Arab countries in order to increase and ensure its safety.
- Promote cooperation and coordination between Member States in the field of civil aviation and lay the necessary foundations so that it can be of a uniform nature.
- Work on developing the Arab Civil Aviation so that it can meet the needs of the Arab nation for secure, safe and regular air transport.
